DKJ: Got anything solid for what to do if you can't break the pants grip on that bottom hand? Just keep it in place and go for the sweep anyways or do you NEED to get the leg free? If you can't break the grip where should/can you go from there?
You CAN just push the hand under to sweep, I just find if you're lazy with your hip movement it's harder to bring them over.

Typically I will try to force them to post by collar dragging them or pull out on their heel toward me turning their knee outward, pushing with my foot or dlr hook forcing them to base. I like the foot on the biceps option as well, if nothing to control the distance and transition to spider or put a foot on their hips.

WhiteShark that was just for you lol.

Here's a vid of mendes doing a nogi version of the classica sweep, similar to the frazatto sweep.

Is it just me or do the Japanese get more stuff direct from Brazil than almost anyone else? Also I like that all the Mendes videos get Gundam music at the end.

I'll be giving these a thorough look over. Coming back to sport BJJ after a long absence in Judo, I need something to replace the single leg guard game that I used to use but half of which's options got killed when crossing the outside leg over the knee got banned.

Maybe the visa's between Japan and Brazil are easier?

Yeah, the rule is stupid as hell. I like the dlr and rdlr, combine those with the traditional feet on hips and relson 7 sweep series and you got yourself a versatile open guard system.

It's called "Reaping the Knee" and is against the rules in all IBJJF tournaments. Dunno when the ruling was made, but it's a pain in the ass. NAGA doesn't use it, dunno what other comps might not care, but Lutador disallows it.

Here's another slick variation from the RDLR as shown by Ed Ramos.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the videos. I was actually able to pull off the Kiss of the Dragon once in class last night and it felt pretty awesome.
