Ah, yeah, that's a ways away from me. I'm not very familiar with that area. I'll ask around and see if anything comes up as reputable.

Thats generally the story up here in VT and it seems to be worse in the south of the state...

Yes, the "instructor" I called didn't seem to want to talk to me although I was sending him a potential student.

I asked my instructor today. He recommends Ron Treem, who teaches at White River Budokan. Their site is at: http://www.budokai.us/ They're about 1/2 hour out of Springfield.

This may be long settled but I just saw that Upper valley Judo is holding a couple of classes a week in Claremont NH which is just across the river from Springfield.

I will be down there working at the prison this weekend and I may try to drop in and practice, I'll let you know what I find if I do...

    Omega:

I took Bluewave TKD at a few different schools in VT when I lived up north in the 90's. Bluewave was and I think still is big in the area. Very kid friendly. They taught Olympic style TKD and as was mentioned they compete a lot in the north-east. They are, or at least were when I was there very traditional but spend a lot of time in the pads kicking each other. I enjoyed my in TKD and other than the lack of punching or guarding the face (typical TKD) it was a great experience. Just my .02. I do know one of the instructors (5 or 6th degree) in the area if your interested.
