Hawaii has a zero-tolerance speed limit.
I can get a ticket for doing 26 in a 25, on my bike for that matter.
    30mph over is a felony.
I think speed limit is pretty clear in meaning over here.

I can fly past a tractor on my bike, that the tractor or maintenance vehicle as it may be can only go so fast is my point, just like a bike.

A slow bike has the legal right to the road just as the slow moving tractor.
Do i have to quote the damn massholes? "We are traffic."
Then there is really no point further discussing this with you, as you clearly do not understand this concept.

    Pedestrians =/= drivers.

A bike losing brakes and ramming into a car does not contain the same blunt-force impact potential as a tractor losing brakes and ramming into a car.

I do, but the laws are clear.
You claimed that a speed limit was a minimum, that was my point of contention.

    just to be clear:
    Speed limit: maximum speed allowed.

Just to be clear there are minimum and maximum speed limits in many states if not all.

Yes but the term "limit" is generally pretty clear as the maximum.
Minimum speed limits are generally freeways etc which prohibit bicycles anyhow.
If that is what Snake is referring to then perhaps my questions were not clear enough.

In London the speed limit is typically 30mph, however the average actual speed is 12mph, the same as it was a century ago, cyclists aren't holding anyone up.

I never claimed speed limit was a minimum but a determination by the municipality based on the reasonable man interpretation and the reasonable man was in a motor vehicle.
I stated the bicyclist need be going "at least" the speed limit. If you have a problem with the term "at least" I will remove the word "least" and state "bicycles need to be going at the speed limit least they be unsafely impeding traffic"

And no, Highways/Freeways are not the only roadway which has minimum speed laws.

The speed limit, the maximum, is defined as the maximum safe speed in ideal conditions.
This implies that often a lower speed is prudent and that anything over is never so.
In downtown Honolulu the limit is only 25 but i'll sign over my house if you can safely negotiate a 90 deg., single lane turn in a car at that speed.
The signs don't tell you to slow down now do they?
Prudence dictates you do, and it should also dictate how on drives near cyclists, tractors, pedestrians etc.
Going lower than the limit does not equate to impeding traffic.
Going over it is breaking the law.

I never said "only", save your straw.

They wouldn't do it in Boston, because they would risk a similar incident as too what played out in the video. A bunch of little pompous piss pots. maybe when they have to get big boy jobs, then they will understand. A bunch of privileged brats who probably rely on Daddy to pay their tuition.
