Actually, I think Don Frye is a very poor example.
I personally think that Frye was the very first truly rounded fighter in the UFC. He could strike effectively, and Grapple like a champ.
A much better example is Dan Severn, Ken Shamrock or Oleg Taktarov imo.
Watch UFC 1-10 and you will see that pure grappling dominance was the rule, not the exception.Last edited by Colin; 3/18/2011 12:22am at .

Style: Kodokan Judo--
I did Judo with Oleg in New Orleans, at a seminar he and Gene Lebell put on. Oleg has very good Judo/Sambo to say the least, was funny, cool guy, and a good teacher. Everybody but me was there for the leg locks, though.
And he does not look like Freddy Mercury, who lived and (and died) in New Orleans.
Now,who in MMA looks like Trent Reznor?
