do you honestly think so? (sorry i can't tell if you're being sarcastic)
i saw a doctor last summer and he said it was probably due to too much weight. i weigh about 110kg and i'm only 5'8"....body fat % is probably about 30. i'm sceptical of this since the pain is inconsistent and there are no effects on my knees/ankles as i mentioned earlier.
i'm going to see another doctor once i register with one (i am student and i've moved halls to a different area) but in the mean time i need a short term solution :( -

And also how do you know its lactic acid causing this problem?
It's dangerous and more often than not incorrect to jump to conclusions about stuff like this unless your a doctor or a medical professional of some sorts yourself. Definitly get it checked out by someone who knows what their doing.
Hope its nothing serious. -

Probably not Lactic Acid necessarily, but muscle pain. First thing is Magnesium. Do some research on PubMed and see what you think. Based on some research I did recently, some medical professionals believe Magnesium should be considered in the differential diagnosis of all cases of muscle pain.
Disclaimer: This is not to say don't go to your doctor, or to engage in self-diagnosis of any kind. If the problem is constant, severe, and/or crippling, always better to play it safe. Just throwing out a possibility that could be worth looking into.Click To Get My Free Training Newsletter... Do It NOW!

With regards to the magnesium, should i just take vitamin+mineral supplements (i already take multivitamins) since my student lifestyle makes it impossible to get fruit and veg everyday?
With regards to what Permalost has pointed out, i wonder how that would only affect my calves and nowhere else.
