First of all, Tyson is a fucking excellent boxer. Saying otherwse is retarded. Past his prime, sure, but still quite good. Back in the day, he was schooling everyone.

Second of all, pure boxing does not translate well to MMA. The gloves make a lot of the difference, and so does grappling. Think of how easy boxers go into the clinch. Also, MMA allows a lot of what's known as "dirty boxing" that can be used to great advantage. Randy Couture is absolutely excellent at it. Overall, MMA striking is a different skillset that will take some adjustment.

Mike Tyson would have a puncher's chance against pretty much anyone due to his insane power and explosiveness. Overall, though, he would lose to even the mid-grade MMA fighters unless he dedicates quite a bit of time to training new things.

I'd like to see him fight Tank Abbot. Tank is dumb anough to trade punches with him.

He would probably kill Tank. To beat Mike Tyson, you have to shoot in under his punches. Tank's takedowns are all from the clinch, and he would get lit up before he get's a chance to do anything.

Guys, lets be serious. Tyson would get dominated. I have 1st and 2nd hand knowledge of Tyson. If the man were to go into MMA, he would not do so with the training necessary. He doesn't have the discipline to train. Nor is he humble enough to recognize the holes in his game.

Mike Tyson in the UFC? Interesting. I think he might accidently hit a few guys, but the top fighters should be able to kick his ass when it comes to grappling. Beside that, even a kickboxer would give him a hard time, Tyson only knows punching, no knees, kicks etc.
He also wanted to fight in the K-1 I heard. Although he can beat some lesser gods there, he will be beated by top fighters like Hoost, Aerts, etc.
So I don't give Tyson much chance in either K-1 or UFC, but then again... look what that n00b called Bob Sapp pulled of...

Isn't K-1 just striking? Rickson would always lose in a striking fight

No, K-1 also has a grappling variant. K-1 max or something.

K-1 Max is a tournament for middleweight kickboxers. K-1 is planning on making a MMA tournament though.
