Sanda/ San Shou is considered a style as much as Muy Tai I don’t think I would have specifically addressed the comment without the reference, even the post before yours referenced it as a style.
Sanda comps are not widely available for CMAs really they have to attend any event open to them. There are many styles that are not known for competition but that does not mean individual schools compete in various events.

The hood mentality is crippling disease, that attacks your nervous system. It makes you nervous of the system. Gangsters and hood rats are especially susceptible to this growth stunting mentality. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. --Keith David--Ice Cube

'Course not. I just mentioned where I was because it was asked.
Rather than deciding based on what's nearby, I figured I'd rather go the other direction and decide what's worth learning, and THEN pick based on the quality of what's nearby. If it's not something I'll enjoy, doesn't matter how good of a place it is, ya know? -

Style: Judo, Hung Family Boxing--
as i have said before, i think anyone seriously interested in practical CMA should train judo first. after a few years of judo, you will be able to tell a good CMA school from a bad one, and will have a delivery system that will allow you to use your CMA better.
personally, i wish i had done judo before hung ga, but now that i am in judo i feel that i understand hung ga much more."Face punches are an essential character building part of a martial art. You don't truly love your children unless you allow them to get punched in the face." - chi-conspiricy
"When I was a little boy, I had a sailor suit, but it didn't mean I was in the Navy." - Mtripp on the subject of a 5 year old karate black belt
"Without actual qualifications to be a Zen teacher, your instructor is just another roundeye raping Asian culture for a buck." - Errant108
"Seriously, who gives a **** what you or Errant think? You're Asian males, everyone just ignores you, unless you're in a krotty movie." - new2bjj
