    You know what I love most about Okinawan Karate? The Pienan kata. See, that's the secret of it all no student could ever voice lest they go against their masters: Every movement in the entire Pienan kata is directly related to different pie-making techniques, from the initial dough-mixing movements commonly mistaken for blocks to the twisting-leg chopping halfway through which is for cutting the apples with entirely traditional Okinawan cleavers to the gentle spreading of the pie-lattice at the very end.

    And don't even get me started on the traditional Okinawan pizza pie roots of the Naihanchi kata.
