Official, organized BJJ trainings started in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia pretty late, in 2008. There are guys training much longer of course, some of the folks at my gym, for example, but they usually "just" sweated on the mat based on watching fight/instructional videos.
The atmosphere is great, both the instructor and the guys who attend longer are very helpful and friendly.
There are 3 regular trainings a week:
Monday 20:00 - 22:00
Wednesday: 20:00 - 22:00
Friday: 18:30 - 20:00
Most of the training time is in gi, at the moment there is no specific no gi class, although no gi sparrings are regular (preparing for no gi tournaments might increase the rate).
The current gym is a Muay Thai place, with a ring and training equipment. Members of the club can also train in MT, as some MT fighters join our classes too. The MT head coach, former European MT champion Fero Stary trains with us regularly.
Attending grappling/BJJ tournaments is optional, although the instructor doesn't give out coloured belts to people who don't compete. Members of the gym compete/d and got medals on local and European tournaments.
Showers, locker room are small but fine.
First training is for free.

I'm going to be in Bratislava in the beginning of july, I was hoping to join a trainingsession.
So an emailadress to get in contact would be nice, for some help getting to the location and things.
Seeing I've never been to Bratislava before :)

We will be moving to a new gym, reconstruction is on its way as I write this.
The official opening will be on July 2nd 2012, probably with the presence of my instructors teacher Nick Brooks, a Roger Gracie black belt, head of Mill Hill BJJ, London, UK.
Visitors are welcome! :-)

Good for you. My friend Seymour is now a Brown belt under Nick. By coincidence I was looking at the rail map and it's only a couple of stops on British Rail but, but, have I the time?
Perhaps one day...
