I don't know why this pisses me off and not the fact that I pay $125 a month for a gym that's only open 28 days a month and 14 hours a day. Maybe if they were paying their employees some sort of bonus for working over the holidays I'd feel better, but since this is Japan I'm inclined to believe half the people working there at any given time aren't actually clocked in (just like my company).
Na. It's just hideously shameless profiteering, a national pastime here.
So as we head out of the holiday season, is anybody else's gym this bad during the holidays or in general?
It seems to me that the Sanjuriu Martial Art is not in guestion, but, rather the character of Mr. Galt.

My gym is always open.
Mainly because I got fed up with commercial gyms and just lift out of my garage now.

There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

I've always hated gyms, luckily some of the Judo places I've gone to either had free weights lying around or were in a YMCA or something that I could use. At Gold's they close at 11 on most days and earlier on weekends which just plain sucks as I work a shifting schedule that could have me out at 10 - 12 pm on any given night. I hope to soon either find a new place that's open more or start building up a gym in my basement.

It says that December 30th and January 2nd and 3rd if you want to get in during the gym's extremely limited hours you can pay 1,050 yen (about twelve dollars) to come in when you're already a member.
I live in a tiny apartment and have no space for weights, nor would my floor support them (really soft linoleum...you can leave footprints if you stand still long enough). From what I'm told every gym here is about the same. I just joined the closest gym to my apartment because when money runs low at the end of the month I know I'll skip a gym I have to get a train ticket to.

How does Gold's expect you to get huge like old school Arnold and be a walking billboard with hours like that?
