If you saw Predators, this movie will remind you of that movie in feel. They basically took the original movie and added more action. The pacing is still off and there is a ton of DeJa Vu going on through out the movie.
The hood mentality is crippling disease, that attacks your nervous system. It makes you nervous of the system. Gangsters and hood rats are especially susceptible to this growth stunting mentality. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. --Keith David--Ice Cube

Looking Behind the Curtain:
I was trying my damnedest to get my friends to go watch The Fighter that night, but they wanted to watch Tron 2 instead. It's still an action movie/fight film, so it fits under my umbrella of "Stuff I Decide is Okay to Review", but the real fight film review will have to wait until next week. Along with True Grit. And probably a Christmas special. This is gonna be a busy holiday. -

Hey, the use of an identity disc as a weapon is pretty awesome idea for a fictional martial art. In the first movie the fighting was all through disc throwing, whereas in the sequel the disc was wielded as a blade. This made for some interesting fight sequences.
So, yes, martial arts movie.
As far as the story goes, I expected it to be simple and bland. The original was an amazingly simple story and it only made sense that the sequel would follow suit. Because I expected it, I walked away satisfied. Conde is also right that there are a TON of throwbacks to the original. It almost felt like this movie was simply to say, "Hey, there' was a movie about 28 years ago, remember that?"
My biggest complaint
