The more I read of this, the more I wonder about this guy's mental state.

Per the Underground thread. This is a photo David Lang submitted as some form of proof of his black belt status. How this is proof or even remotely related to Wallid is beyond me, anything strange about the picture?

Anyone recognize the other faces in the photo?

It does appear that the two gentlemen in the middle hold some BJJ rank, and their uniforms are consistent with that assumption. The two guys on the outside appear to have uniforms consistent with some other TMA and they even have the black belts with embroidery.

Just saw that myself and was thinking of bringing this here... :new_color

I know that there are folks here who are good at spotting edited photos (there's debate over on the UG about whether Lang's head and the date have been shooped)...

Yes and their was a cat over here using some pretty cool software on the Scott Sonnon thread to determine things about the photograph, I would love to see a similar analysis of this photo.

If not, atleast it can make it's way around and we can find out if anyone knows anyone in the photo.

Perhaps they hold rank in Judo Jiu-Jitsu under Gilbert Pouillart...

In my opinion, the only debatable photoshopping is on the date, the 5 in 2005 looks suspect to me, but i'll leave that to the people who actually use photoshop to say.

Also of note, in case it was missed, he TEXT MESSAGED the picture to people. That might explain the poor quality, or deliberate obfuscation.

Additionally, in doing some quick googling, the physical black belt from the guy on the right (supposedly david lang) looks like a judo black belt, as they have the gold kanji (or whatever) symbols on them.

It's very rare that you find many judo black belts with any kind of kanji on their belts, unless they get it done custom. Any of the Judo yudansha here have kanji on their belt?

Ken Kronenberg of Tai Kai Jiu-Jitsu had kanji on his Tai Kai belt.
