For regular self-defense use (VS LE Use) though, pepper spray has the issue of "blow back"; where you oftentimes catch a bit of it yourself, especially in close quarters, and there is also the issue of accessibility. Unless you see trouble coming early, getting that can out of a pocket, pack or purse in time to deploy it properly can be problematic. It's a great arrest tool for cops because we carry it on a belt holder and we oftentimes sense when an arrest isnt going to go well. For regular SD use I suggest keyring holders, belt carry when possible and a habit of having it at hand as a part of routine when in areas where you are more vulnerable.

I have always been told soap and water. Saw a guy spayed in the nuts once. That guy looked like he was in the most pain I have ever seen somone pepper sprayed.

before you all jump on the pepperspray bandwagon: what if you encounter a black homeless rapist in a biohazardsuit?
