    the first half was completely brilliant.

    although, i still think there's an argument that you should learn fundamental passing before leg locks.

    I think that argument is “position before submission”: You should also learn to maintain side control before armlocks, breaking posture before guard sweeps, &c. (I’ve realised that a lot of whitebelts are useless in side control because the moment they start thinking about attacking, they completely forget about checking your hip.)
