I have to agree with the party poopers here. Clever solution, though. I just don't have the problem it's designed to solve. I don't think I want to know how much I'd miss if I were trying to fire at a full-auto rate by shoving the gun around, sights or no sights, and there's not a lot of point in having the gun on the shoulder if you're not using your shoulder as a point of contact to keep it steady.

Now if there's room in the stock for ME to put a spring of the proper strength that's a totally different story. And totally not legal afterwords.

I am going to have to reverse my position on this for one reason:
Because the grip is part of the stock you have better control over the weapon and don't have to loosen your grip in order to use the bump firing. You're also able to keep good stock to shoulder and stock to cheek welds.

I go to do push ups now.

after shooting full auto weapons, the only thing I can conclude is,

eh, not that much fun. Glad you guys paid for it, rather then me ;)

except for the mk-19. That is a million times more fun to shoot then should ever be allowed.

PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

That is not conducive to passionate cunnilingus, my friend, let me assure you.

Gotta love a weapon that is expected to provide enough suppressive fire to keep a whole battalion's heads down.

Its kind of fun the 1st few times and quickly becomes not so much when you are paying for the ammo yourself though that is sure.

I approve of this message. Until it's cleanup time, that is. Interesting enough, I don't remember having to clean the MK-19 when we shot it at the range. I'm assuming they must have made the Article-15 types do it...

In any event, although it's cool, sadly, its invention just underscores a larger problem; the fact that our country and many of our state's have some of the most retarded gun laws on the books.

You bring up an interesting point. The only time I had to clean the Mk-19 was when I took the armorer's course. In theory it should be the soldier assigned to the weapon, but I've never been in a unit that assigned the Mk-19 to an individual person, it was always attached to a vehicle and gunners rotated through the hatch and everyone but the assigned driver and NCO were trained to use it. I kind of wonder if it's all treated like unit level maintenance for everything on it since you need special lubricants for it and the like.

Edit: Almost forgot, cleaning the Mk-19 is actually very easy. It's a fairly clean weapon without all that many moving parts. And all those are pretty big due to the size of the round. The only really hard thing about it is removing the bolt block, since it's about the size of Andre the Giant's fist and under a lot of tension. Certainly a 'make sure you do this right' kind of disassembly.

What we do is have the whole gun section gang bang the .50, mk 19 and even the 240.

It makes **** go by a lot faster, and gets it a whole lot cleaner. Then again, I don't know how you army types organize your gun section.
