I think what a lot of people are missing in my original post is this: Stop dicking around on youtube you fucking white/blue belt ****** and go perfect your god damned fundamentals. Knowing some random brazilian name of some retard as **** submission you'll never pull off is not going to make your dick any bigger nor is it going to make you look any cooler.

How long have you been doing martial arts? 6 months? 8 months? I don't think you get it. This isn't a comparison of striking art vs. grappling art. This isn't a comparison of your views on the differences between a self-defense technique (which by the way, BJJ has some and they're fucking awful.) and a shitty grappling technique.
It's commentary on shitty people following the same shitty mindset of how arts that were good and how they fell down the hole of commercialism and watering down. You're clearly not getting it. You're looking at this one technique and you're basing your entire bullshit argument on it. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS ONE VIDEO. IT'S ALL OF THEM.
Fucking **** dicks. This is why we can't have nice things. It's assholes like you who let this kind of bullshit slide.
Look idiot, some sage advice here. If your gonna post a whiny rant about MA videos. Why don't you post relevant videos. You bitch about more restrictive rules being added to BJJ/Judo/TKD but you failed to make a connection on how anyone posting **** video's has anything to do with changing the rules in the sport. From what I understand from my 15 years of experience TKD added rules before people even were using the internet. As any MA becomes more commercial, more lawsuits are going to happen therefore more rules will come in play to reduce injuries and potential lawsuits. Again having nothing to do with videos. Unless you are suggesting that the shitty videos are what Making BJJ so popular not its performance in various MMA events.
Also you inadequately compared this video you posted to typical self defense video's. However that was an epic fail on so many levels. You complained that this technique was low percentage yet you didn't even give a reason why. Just some stupid story of white belts in your gym coming in with stupid techniques that don't work. Hmmm do you think it could have been the fact that they are white belts that the techniques sucked?
Now you are claiming that there are BJJ self defence videos which do suck in the same way that regular SD videos do. (which by the way everyone knows about and nobody cares). Yet you didn't post any of those useless videos. Instead you posted a person showing a legit BJJ move (regardless if it is low percentage or not).
It is not that I'm not getting it. It is just that you have no point to make and you just keep running your mouth.
Do yourself a favor and STFU
1% Shark is better than you.

I think you are drinking too much Omega Kool-aid. Omega can be a bitch about "low percentage" moves and things that personally annoy him because he is so good no one gets those moves on him anyway. You aren't in the same class and come across like a whiny bitch because there are plenty of people on here that know they can choke you retarded with whatever stupid triangle setup you find on youtube.
Point is even if you are generally right you aren't enough of an authority to draw the line.
Yes, I am smarter than you are.

I think I sort of understand Sirc.
In the first page he is trying to imply that the comercilization of BJJ is going to happen eventually. Soon millions of videos will crop up of BJJ techniques, everyone will be doing it. Quality control will drop, and the art is going to start sucking much like TKD (according to him, I don't do TKD or know of its history) starting very good, but drastically declined when it went into a "sport/self defense for everyone!" setting.
On the second page he changes his view or I guess he adds a little more to it. He thinks that blue and white belts have no right to be showing anyone anything unless it is the fundamentals of the art. Knowing a technique from whoever still doesn't put a black belt around your waist to go ahead and teach people anything.
Either way I understand, and I agree with him (They are, after all, very broad statements that can apply to any martial art). I'd go into why but I think I'm more interested with how this thread shows that people are biased in this forum. He is not attacking BJJ and clearly says it, but the mere implication that BJJ is being criticized and everyone immediately recoils.

Oh look, it's SirC trying to gain forum credit by ragging on videos made by other retarded noobs, most of whom could STILL beat the piss out of his tiny egotistical body.

What level is Sirc? Answer that and you have the real sticking point.

I don't know, and its a valid point. Who is Sirc to know what is a good technique or not if he doesn't hold a good rank in BJJ?
That's not the main issue though, the main issue is from the perspective of the outsider, who is Sirc. I take it he either doesn't do BJJ or focuses mainly on TKD/striking. Either way he is mainly commenting on the vast amount of BJJ videos and the idea that history repeats itself. Millions of practitioners, growing popularity, focus on sport BJJ (which is what I do as well, so don't talk to me about which is better, its not the point), the attention of the world can't focus on all the black-belts anymore. I'm sure (this is an assumption) that between the era of Grugel and todays era there has been an exponential increase in black-belts. Due to this, the sport is watering itself down (much like TKD I can only guess).
Now on the technique critique, Sirc may not be qualified - but the observation is still there. It doesn't matter who's name you call out as you show a technique, you are still a white belt and have a long way to go.

Well, for example, this guy is the poster child for dumb-ass BJJ technique videos:
YouTube - Jiu Jitsu Chess Drill
YouTube - Twister from Scarf Hold
YouTube - Scorpion Crunch

The scorpion crunch was the first technique I got subbed with. At one of the ATL throwdowns, by bullshido user Pinky.
