Anyone have any experience with the Glock 36?

Haven't made it to the range yet, but I have at least field stripped and cleaned the Glock to get rid of the coating. Question on the magazine release. In the 36, the magazine doesn't really drop out, it just sort of releases, and requires me to pull it out the rest of the way. Is this the result of it being a sub compact, or is it something I can solve by applying lubricant?

I've not heard of this issue. The one I've played with didn't do that. I gave google a cursory search as well, and nothing obvious came up. For pistols I really like to use Tetra gun grease (any other brand works) on the wear points after I clean them. It stays where you put it, and doesn't leak everywhere. I'd suggest spreading a bit of that around where you think it might be catching, and seeing what happens.

If you're good with a dremel, you could try polishing the magazine lips a bit, and MAYBE any plastic that seems jagged, but I'd highly suggest shooting your gun to wear it in instead.

Seriously. Don't do this unless you're highly experienced.

Yeah, I'm gonna see if simply breaking it in will have any impact first. If it's still being a bitch, grease will be the next step. I'll take it to a glock armorer if it's still no dice.

The gun dealer actually warned me not to clean my glock 19 at all until I'd shot 250 rounds through it. I thought that was a bit odd, but I did it. About 1500 rounds since July, and not a single misfire, misfeed, or hung magazine. Jaeger will attest to that. Just don't ask him what he thinks of my Ruger 22/45.

Interesting, the manual says to clean it before you fire the first round.

Yeah. He was very insistent though, and was carrying a glock, so I went with it.

On a positive note, after having dropped 20lbs, it's much easier to use a IWB holster, as my gun is no longer pressing against my love handles.

I would be having the opposite problem, as the current indisposed condition of my neck prevents me from doing much besides watching TV and doing minor cardio on an exercise bike or elliptical machine.

When spring comes, I'm getting a bicycle, and I am going to ride that sumbitch till my legs fall off.
