its all well and good to ask for advice, but in my experience these things are best getting properly checked out and diagnosed accordingly.

if there is prolonged pain and discomfort in the joints it well probably need surgery.

there could be a tear, soft tissue or even tendon damage. add that to a discomfort that has lasted for two months, id say there is a good chance he may need surgery.

or it could just be a ligament sprain or a dislocation. in that case surgery wouldnt necessarily be required.
