It's good to see that most people who replied to the article were more shocked at the lack of action on the schools part, as a opposed to angered by MMA turning their children into killers.
The tone of this article annoys me. The author obviously has a low opinion, or is very uneducated (or both) in regards to MMA in general. He seems more happy to place the blame on the "popular but brutal" sport than any wrongdoing by the kid, his parents or his school. -

I remember in gradeschool, one of the other kids learned the RNC and he choked several kids unconscious (but he didn't do it standing up like that kid so no heads hit the ground). No authorities were notified, no medical assistance, and nobody said anything or got injured. It was more of a weird novelty. Surely a horrible idea, but no harm done and it didn't make the news on the other side of the world.
