    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Let's play TapOut- The Choking Rochambo

Uh oh. Looks like MMA is going to receive some backlash in Queensland, this incident made it in the Sydney Morning Herald:

    http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au...p-out-outrage/

    http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au...isturbing-lnp/

So basically we have some school kids playing a "game" called "tap-out" where they choke someone until they tap out, only this little **** choked another kid all the way to unconsciousness, then drew all over him. So now MMA and purely by brand awareness, the UFC, seem to be facing the music as to the "extremely brutal" aspect of the sport and its effect on children.

Now, all MMA shows, DVD's, etc that I have seen are M15+ over here and/ or on late at night, so really, any attempts by the parents associations to attempt to ban it will hopefully be futile, because if you are letting your children watch MMA without some serious parental guidelines and supervision (ie, choking out your friend is fucking dangerous) then you are a horrible parent and dare I say, a complete fucking moron. But, that has never stopped the chronic-kiddie-flag-bearers from kicking up a stink so watch this space.

It appears, to the benefit of our beloved sport of MMA, that the emphasis and focus is on the school not performing its duty of care, for the time being. I shall keep this thread updated, with my fingers crossed that parents associations realise this is not the terrible influence of MMA, but the stupid naivety of young children and a lack of appropriate supervision in more aspects than just the classroom where the incident took place.

At least they aren't masturbating while they choke each other.

It's good to see that most people who replied to the article were more shocked at the lack of action on the schools part, as a opposed to angered by MMA turning their children into killers.

The tone of this article annoys me. The author obviously has a low opinion, or is very uneducated (or both) in regards to MMA in general. He seems more happy to place the blame on the "popular but brutal" sport than any wrongdoing by the kid, his parents or his school.

It's stupid to blame MMA for these kinds of behaviors.

It's like saying soccer is responsible for kids doing goal kicks to each others' faces because of the sport.

I remember in gradeschool, one of the other kids learned the RNC and he choked several kids unconscious (but he didn't do it standing up like that kid so no heads hit the ground). No authorities were notified, no medical assistance, and nobody said anything or got injured. It was more of a weird novelty. Surely a horrible idea, but no harm done and it didn't make the news on the other side of the world.
