If what looks like the right flap is actually the left flap, the fortune cookie crease in the belt knot should be facing the the direction the flap is crossed, not the other way. Anyone who knows grappling knows Yamashita and if he wants to sucker in the unsuspecting (Whether his training is any good or not) that might be a way to grab the casually informed grappler's attention.
