The Ultimate Fighter- GSP vs. Koscheck. Episode 6

So, just got done watching it and found it entertaining if for one reason. Cody's fight.

So, the episode kicks off detailing Team Koscheck's win and then bragging about it, They continue to brag about it and poke fun at the situation for the next 30 minutes of the show. Brag and occassionaly warns Cody's opponent to watch out for the Guillotine. Brag, Brag, Brag, Guillotine comment, brag.

Finally it's time to view the fight. Cody wins via Guillotine in under 20 seconds. I stare at my TV thinking "You have got to be fucking kidding me."

However, the most entertaining part of the show happens in the locker room. GSP tells his team mates a job well done and to act like champions. No rubbing it in, no **** talking, nothing. Meanwhile, in the next room Koscheck's locker is quiet. They all stare blankly at one another for a good 10 seconds till Nam finally exclaims "Wow..."
Seeming as though the abescence of **** talking from GSP's team, leaving them alone to think about the match makes it worse.

That one scene had me dying of laughter.

Anyways, 15 more minutes pass until the next fight where Sevak gets choked out in under 2 minutes. So, 2 wins for GSP's team and bunch of checks that team Koscheck can't cash.

All in all an entertaining episode to say the least.

How ironic that the yellow team is getting pissed all over.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. First for GSP's "be nice" speech, then for the two fights. Not since Joe Lauzon won by flying RNC have I been that..."surprised" doesn't quite capture it...by a TUF fight.

Maybe I'll have more to say later; I'm still recovering from two straight "holy ****!" moments.

Those fights went nowhere near the way I thought they would. The look on Kosh's face each time was priceless.

He talks a lot of ****, but I'd love it if he got choked out by GSP to finish it all off.

Holy **** that guillotine was awesome!

The guy was in side control too and still got choked out. Un-fucking-real.

I think his leg was trapped; is that enough to qualify it as half guard?

    It wasn't half guard.

Cody had his right leg over top of Sevaks right leg, instead of under it like a half guard.

    sneaky as ****.

this guy blows me away. i can't believe he's catching everyone with this even when they KNOW it's coming.

when you go to the correct side of a guillotine (side control on the opposite side to your head), you should be pretty safe. there should be a gap around your neck, or at least a lot less pressure. usually you just wait for your opponent to realise they're wasting time and energy on a choke that isn't going anywhere. but with cody's version, it doesn't matter.

last weekend i used the same "prayer" technique to submit someone in a comp, but it was a kind of north-south position.

i'm sure everyone is going to be using this technique from now on.
