I can't see velasquez taking it. He doesn't hit as hard as Carwin and his wrestling is unlikely to be as good as Brock's.

Plus I'm pretty sure Brock will be significantly stronger.

Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez - I feel he's done enough for me to start cheering for him now. TKO round 2.
Martin Kampmann vs Jake Shields - I just have a feeling.
Diego Sanchez vs Paulo Thiago - YES. YES. YES.
Tito Ortiz vs Matt Hamill - KO at some point, he'll neuter Tito's wrestling and he has better stand up.
Gabriel Gonzaga vs Brendan Schaub - Sub in round 2, unless Gonzaga decides to be a stupid.
    Court McGee vs Ryan Jensen
Patrick Cote vs Tom Lawler - viva Canadia.
    Mike Guymon vs Daniel Roberts
Paul Taylor vs Sam Stout - viva Canadia.
    Chris Camozzi vs Dongi Yang
    Gilbert Yvel vs Jon Madsen

The most relevant question when it comes to Lesnar vs Velasquez is: will Brock keep his Epic Beard (TM) for night of the fight? I really really hope he does. It makes him look like some old norse god of war.

Nah, it's to doctored. It has to be wild and untamed, like the frost-bitten winds of Norway.

I think Velasquez can take it if he can stop the takedown, which isn't that unlikely, since Carwin's wrestling isn't amazing and he stuffed a few before he gassed. Cain doesn't have Carwin's KO power, but Lesnar still doesn't seem to be able to handle getting punched, and his boxing is way the hell better technically than Carwin's. Same old story as everyone else, though- if Lesnar gets his hands on him, it could turn into a real short night. But I think his wrestling is good enough to not get completely controlled.

I sure as hell wouldn't call Velasquez the favorite, but he's not the longest shot to beat Lesnar in the division either.

It's a training beard, so the answer is no.
