i'm thinking that maybe the cup absorbed the energy kinda like the crumple zone on a car?

it crushed my gear a bit, but i was really surprised at how good things turned out. it all feels fine right now.

no head shots at all, no rotational leg locks, no upkicks. all other strikes allowed standing and ground.

Damn, that looked awful. Would a steel groin guard have been better?

i really don't know if it would have hurt more or less, but the metal guard probably wouldn't have been damaged beyond repair.

though i'm pretty sure i saw a pride fight where someone's cup was split in half by a kick. can't remember who that was.

Never forget Overeem vs Cro Cop where Overeem worked Cro Cop's balls over so bad the doctor wouldn't let it continue.

Nice. I love how people come in and do all the leg waving foot patting type of first aid because that makes all the difference.

my opponent was just trying to help because he felt bad.

but all it really did was shake my balls around and make it hurt a little more, lol.

Yeah neither of you tried for many takedown as a BJJ Purple belt I expected a lot. That's why I was wondering if it was rules related.

LOL, Never mind I skipped the whole first half of the video the first time I watched this. I just now realized it was multiple fights.

I think you are correct about the crumple zone, looks like your cup did a good job of dissipating the force. Your video is definitely a good argument for groin protection. My teacher has a horror story about the old hard plastic cups. His got shattered and he had to have the "shrapnel" removed.

Is this rule set a common thing in Pantration, is that suppose to be pankration or am I confusing the two?
