Bando and Hung Ga, two types of animals?

I've recently found out about the interesting world of Bando the animal style of Burma. As I'm sure many people have noticed its similarities held with Kung-Fu. What I wonder is if instead of Kung-Fu Bando resembles more closely to forms of Indonesian Silat. Any Hung Ga practitioners view would be appreciated.

Be great if you actually formulated a question.

There is a neat video on youtube about Bando, talking about how the government is forcing a chinese connection more than there really is. The speculation in the video was that Bando has more in common with Indian fighting methods and Yoga than chinsee martial arts, though im sure the influence is there.

Probably not a reliable soarce considering how much he was full of ****, but my old katate teacher called the training "bando karate'' and claimed bando has roots in india. He himsef is indian, so there is a bias.

However, seems other guys are also making this claim as well.

I THINK the video was an 'inside martial arts' video on bando or something. The training looked like MMA for the streets(Thai/kickboxing style stand up, gaurd, single/double leg take downs and thai clinch, added with d3adly eye p0ke and super groin kick)

I highly doubt there's any relation between Bando and Hung Gar.

actually there is, but it's quite recent, and has nothing to do with 99.99999% of the hung schools in the world. my sifu cross trained in bando for a while and actually feels that it influenced the way he taught me and my training brothers.

i can't be really sure what is bando based though, because he brought in things he learned in judo, at a shooto gym, at erik paulson's gym and the bando stuff all at the same time.

but yeah, there's no connection between bando and hung gar other than that.

i like this bando best, though:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the Bando you are talking about has NO relation to Hung Gar.

I know your sifu's been around Ming, but... I didn't know about the Bando connection. Sweet.
