@Kintanon, Mcclaw: Thanks for the water cut advice. Good stuff. As you guys seem to have some experience with this, if you don't mind how do you keep your energy level up to train and not get light-headed, etc. from not eating? That's just part of the trade off right?
@Southpaw: Thanks for the book recommendation. I'm not a militant veg. I'm always open to hearing all sides.

Kinatanon is spot on.
10 pounds is only water weight.
Only problem may lie with the weigh in.......Ive cut 19 pounds to weigh in the night before and recovered fine and performed well. If the weigh in is on the morning of the comp thats a different story however.
If your weighing in on the day, your best preparing for a weight cut at least 2 - 3 weeks prior to show day. This will enable you to cut the weight cleanly, minimise a decrease in energy levels and remain fairly well hydrated.
