Anyone seen "Eskrimadores"? I like the fact that they go in depth to the history and recent (1950s-70s) progression of the art.

This is the message I got from Jay Ignacio about a month ago today.
Hi, All.
I am postponing the release of the documentary to 2011 (hopefully it will be ready around April).
Although all of the filming duties have been completed some time ago, I am gathering extra material to give the documentary more depth, and it is the gathering of these materials as well as securing the license to use them that will take a little longer.
I will miss the opportunity of participating in the film festivals this year, but i don't intend to settle for a documentary that's "good enough". Hopefully, when the improvements are made, the documentary turns out to be the best that it can be, and therefore do justice the Filipino Martial Arts and its proponents.

Some may tell you that part of the reason for the change to the modern boxing structure was interaction between Filipino fighters interacting with American boxers. These Filipinos weren't billed as Filipino, though, because there was a lot of ignorance. Ceferino Garcia was announced as a Puerto Rican, for example (and pronounced his name "gar-sha"). There's a good explanation of what changed on the Dog Brothers first Kali Tudo DVD. I'm not sold that that was the only reason for the changes, bit it's an interesting historical note and Crafty has a low tolerance for bullshit.
