Post Shoulder Dislocation

About a week ago, my shoulder got dislocated (a partial dislocation) and i went to the doctor to check it out, she said it was fine but recommended i swim a lot (doing the breaststroke) to strength the muscles around the shoulder to help prevent it from coming out again.
So what are some exercises that i can do to accomplish that without the pool (going to the pool even just once a week is really impractical for me) and is there any general advice on what to do after to help it heal quicker.
