Washington DC Filipino martial Arts

Hey everyone! I just moved to the area and I was wondering if anyone knew of FMA schools in washington DC or groups. I practice FMA myself and I was just curious.

hi there

the biggest group that is in the area (to my knowledge) is Sayoc.

The main group trains out in Maryland and is lead by Guro Bob Shin. http://mdkali.com/?page_id=2. It is approx a 40-60 min drive from DC downtown.

There is another group that practices in Annandale, Va. It is lead by Guro Miguel Acevedo (a student of Guro Bob's). This is a 20-30 min drive from DC.

I'm having a lot of fun practicing within the Sayoc system. There is a community feel and everyone respects each other, but there still is the intensity of training that ranges from drills to full contact stick fighting. If you are interested, I would contact Guro Bob through his website.

There is actually quite a bit of FMA in the DC Metro area. This link has several of them though it is not 100% accurate. Hope it helps!
