Norman Armstrong is indeed the founder> I am his highest ranking student.Shihan Gary Rooney. Ten Chi was a combination of Kara-te and kung- Foo including Yang style Tai Chi. The name which translates Heaven and Earth fist way relates to the hard and soft aspects of the art. Hanshi Armsrong studied with TT Liang, Kazumi Tabata, Algene Caraulia among many others. Hanshi taught the sets from the eight step mantis system (tong long) and the two person sets from Hung Gar as well the Shotokan Katas He was a master technician emphasizing a very low stance and detailed movement. Those aspects were sadly watered down with some practitioners after his death. Hanshi put out some great fighters in the seventies and eighties as well as kata champions . (AAU) His understanding of the relationship between the so called hard and soft arts was displayed in all his forms. Hanshi was a combination of old school and innovator. He had a mind that loved the math and physics of form. I have never met a better teacher. I miss him. Shihan Gary Rooney
