    Leadership In Japanese Martial Arts (Doing Some Research)

    Hey guys

    I'm looking for just 2min of your time.

    I am conducting research on Japanese martial arts, especially around leadership and Sensei(s). I am interested in what people look for in a person - be it values, traits or characterises - that they would be willing to follow or train under.

    The quick poll survey below is designed to understand what makes a great leader in martial arts. There are three simple questions that will take no longer than 2 minutes to answer; you can also see what others have anonymously answered. Thank you for taking your time to answer this and help us understand more about leadership.

    --> 2min Poll Survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Qpv..._1Jg0/viewform

    This activity is being done as part of an individual research project at City University London. If you are interested in the terms, ethics and consent around the study, please find the information at the following link: https://sites.google.com/site/learnjapaknees/

    Triple thanks. Oss!

    The list of traits for a good leader is alphabetically ordered which is not optimal. It might have been better to use random ordering just to be sure.

    Plus points for being straight to the point and not asking too many unnecessary questions.

    Good idea - I'll make those changes going forward. Thanks!

    What about competent at what he/she is doing? I guess that isn't a leadership quality...

    I'm pretty sure competence is one of the criteria available on the survey.

    It was in there, and if you look at previous responses is the #1 criteria people picked.

    Killface, this is quite interesting - can I ask why you think the alphabetical listing is not optimal?
