Another MMA Detractor Whines about Sex and MMA - Dr. Keith Ablow
So here we have another talking head comparing MMA to kiddie porn. Granted Selena Gomez is now legal (thankfully), but seriously, do you Bullies understand that we are responsible for the cultural degredation of America?
I didn't. Meet Dr. Keith Ablow:
Sex and violence are now one of the only ways humans seem able to evidence that they are human. And so, as Facebook takes away our real faces, as drones take away hand-to-hand combat, and email takes away handwritten notes, we see bloody, extreme MMA fighting replacing boxing, and Ashley Benson replacing Elizabeth Taylor.
Genital contact (along with brawling) is now America’s reflex antidote to losing contact. And the antidote is being peddled indiscriminately to kids, who are being dragged right out of childhood by a vicious undertow of eroticism fueled by tides of primal fear that we are not really living life at all, nor are we male, nor are we female, nor need we be troubled (just take Prozac), nor need we be distracted (just take Adderall), nor need we be anxious or bored (just take medical marijuana), nor are we responsible for ourselves (just apply for government entitlements).
Here, once again, we have an old man clinging to the idea that boxing is such a gentle sport, and those of us who practice MMA are brawlers. Yes, the sport that coined the term punch drunk is gentle. Despite numerous studies and statistics, Dr. Keith Ablow still believes that a sport in which you can get a flash knock out and still be made to fight on is more violent than one in which you may tap out without receiving a great deal of injury.
Now, as a father, I agree with Ablow that teenage girls do not need to be constantly bombarded with the sexual imagery that Seventeen wants to sell them. As a coach, I want the girls I teach to develop a healthy self-image and concept of their own body, not what Vanessa Hudgens may be selling them. I sure as hell would not want to find my twelve year old daughter in a threesome.
I get all that Dr. Ablow, I really do.
However, your potshot asides at a sport which I use to teach young women positive self-image and self-protection are ridiculous. The studies and statistics prove that the girls I teach are less likely to end up pregnant in high school, less likely to turn to drugs, less likely to end up with an eating disorder, and more likely to go to college.
You want to rage against over-sexualization of teenage girls & its consequences? Then get on board with our program.
Otherwise, and you'll probably think this is rude, but this is Bullshido...
You need to shut the **** up.

Hmm.....A guy hits his 50s and starts to think the younger generation is going to ****. Gee, I've never heard that before.
The bottom line is that people have it better now than they ever have in the history of mankind. For most of human history women have been nothing more than chattel, so forgive me if I don't fly into hysterics because a teenage girl gives some guy a blowjob.

On the subject, People let other people do what they want unless it is having and effect on a 3rd party that did not intend to be involved. Example, drinking... go kill your liver, but don't drink and drive. Smoking, go get that lung cancer you little you, but don't make me breath that stuff.
You get the idea.
If a girl wants to blow a hundred dudes in a row, well so be it, as long as they are all at the age of consent.

It has been a long time since he's been taken seriously outside of Foxnews. He no longer is certified by the American Psychiatric Society, and basically just write self help books for the ignorant and makes the occasional rant for conservative media.

He doesn't realize that the reason we fight is because it is fun. The reason we have sex is because it is fun. Not because sitting behind a computer makes me feel like less of a man. Matter of fact, I started fighting and banging chicks before I entered into the real job world. Back when I was boozing in college, playing rugby, and bouncing a bars.
He can't presume to explain why I feel the way I do, because he has never walked in my shoes. This is the problem I have with some preachers and psychologist. Preaching at me about why I do what I do, and why I should feel how I feel. Having never been there or done that.
**** that dude.

Attractive women enjoying themselves and their youth is a bad thing?
As for MMA vs. Boxing? Let's take a look at a couple of the most popular champions from each sport and compare.
Mike Tyson: Famous train wreck, threatened to eat opponents children after fight, served time for sexual assault, DQ'd from boxing for canibalism, "will **** you till you love him, ******".
Anderson Sylva: Famous as a striking artist with a level of skill that borders upon super human. Never talks smack. Honors his opponents when he wins. Rediculously positive role model to children.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but still...

What he fails to say is: "This is how I feel about my culture today based on no facts what-so-ever".
On first viewing an 'MMA' fight my thoughts were pretty much 'Jesus! That's brutal!' simply because I new **** all about it, like this twat.
I hear the 'boxing is less brutal' BS a lot. Its simply more common a sport. If a boxer gets through the fight battered and bloody, concussed and on jelly legs he'd be praised for fighting spirit..bit of blood in the 'cage'..different reaction. Cultural conditioning imo.
