Yes, but I'm currently a month and a half into a two month duty transfer to Boston for work. See you there on January 22 for my next practice. There are actually numerous things I could change about the above review, partly just changes and partly from practicing at more Judo clubs and have more perspective. You should come by, check it out, post if you agree/disagree with the above.
First point I should mention is that the community center replaced most of the old wrestling mats with better mats. Not Tatami, but the difference is HUGE. I feel like I bounce off the new ones.
There has been discussion about holding advanced, tournament-related practices in addition to the regularly scheduled practices as well. If you can make it, great. If not, I like the other Judo clubs in the Portland area, too, especially Seiwakan.
Glad you replied, I didn't even know there was Kyokushin in the Portland area.
*Edit: Yeah never mind about seeing you in January, I forgot you said you were looking for it for April while I was writing. You can always come to visit and see what practices are like though.Last edited by watchman; 1/01/2013 9:00pm at . Reason: Reread post

Thanks for the feedback. I train Tues-Sat at Ito Dojo in Beaverton right now. After my tournament I plan to train Kyokushin 3 days a week and Judo 2 days a week. I've been doing research and its down to Obukan or Portland Judo. The level of instruction combined with the cost at Obukan is really hard to beat though. regardless, I'll let you know when I come by to check out a class.
Cheers.
P.S. I reviewed Ito Dojo on here if you want to check it out. -
