Team MMA

Hey guys.
My names Marc and Im into training to be a real life super dude.
I already play paintball with a team of dudes using real life tactics and strategy to practise winning gun fights.
And I do martial arts fighting in Karate.
but i got to thinking why not have team mma?
in street fights usually you have more people than just 1 on 1?

Maybe add some rules to make it more safe, like no kicking a head of downed opponent, etc and adding a second ref to keep track of the action. And you could have 2 on 2 mma.

Is this just because the grappling crowd wouldn't like it?
I think grapplers could do good, both could pull guard so that it becomes 2 1 on 1 matches. so yeah itd still be a legit tactic.

and you could have team tactics, like table topping your opponent

If any, thing we should have Team TMA vs MMA fights. That way, TMAers will stop bringing up the street and realistic training, cuz teh grapplez doznt wok on da skreets..

I saw the three way thing which kind of inspired me, but I was thinking, you know, team tactics and stuff...

but yeah 5 kung fu fighters vs 5 bjj fighters, or no wait, better yet, class based!

each team gets a grappler, a stand up fighter, a wrestler and a tank who takes all the hits. the tank can be any one of any other styles

Teams may end up with different types of fighters but it would be hard it specify in the rules. What would happen if the teams specialist grappler was found in a boxing gym?

You know, MMA is still fighting the street thug image in some places. If I recall correctly, the OP has espoused the opinion that MMA types are nothing but thugs himself.

Consequently, I'm not sure making a circus of the sport is a good choice at this juncture.
