I hope I'm in as good a shape as Van Clief when I'm that age.

One could only hope; even though he lost his UFC bout, it was admirable that he was in there.

Taimak has been a student of Van Clief's for many years, and they did several training videos in the 80's and 90's.

He was thirty when that video was made eighteen when filming Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon. The years can sometimes take their toll on us. He is still fit and training at forty-eight.

Ron Van Clief is still fit and training at sixty-nine.

Oh, I meant NO disrespect to the man, he's still one of my cinema heroes ("Bruce Leroy? Bruce LEROY?") But the last time I had seen him, he didn't look quite so aged. I guess I could have phrased that better.

He does look a lot older, the obvious reason: Most people haven't really seen him in anything since he was Bruce Leroy. I've seen Taimak and RVC through the years and noticed the age progression (and they were both better at it than I was LOL). I look in the mirror and say "damn, I'm old" on a daily basis.

Anyway, back to the video with RVC brushing up on his ground game before UFC 4. I wonder if he's still in St. Thomas or if he went to Hawaii. His (much younger) wife was doing some teaching.
