How much influence is there in Hapkido from Judo?

I read that after the founder of Hapkido Choi Yong-Sool returned to South Korea after the war he took a student on called Seo Bok-Seob. This student was a black belt in Judo and helped Choi Yong-Sool further define and create what became Hapkido. There is allegedly a number of Judo throws in Hapkido now and this got me thinking.

How much influence is there in Hapkido from Judo?

I'd say there's quite a number of influence in Hapkido from both Judo and Jiujitsu. With that said, the same could be said about many different arts having an influence on eachother.

I suppose a better question is how are the throws in Hapkido similar to the throws in Judo?

After many years of TKD/ HKD and then moving to judo/bjj, not even day one throws like o goshi or o soto are alike in HKD.

I agree with the other two and I've seen some decent Hapkido schools.

Hapkido stems from daito-ryu aikijujitsu and has no connection to yudo. Seo, Bok-Seop was a Choi's first student and was a black belt in yudo, however, Choi, did not, to my knowledge, adapt yudo into the HKD curriculum. I also believe the mechanics in executing most yudo throws are a bit different than that in HKD.

Ok, what do you guys think about Wikipedia saying that Judo was incorporated in Hapkido?

A couple of Hapkido guys used to come to my old Judo dojo from time to time and cross train.

with all things Hapkido, it depends on the school and more importantly the teacher. When I was learning Judo type throws in Hapkido class, my teacher was a bb in Judo and so he taught slightly differently from the other teachers. But there are so many branches and schools of Hapkido it all really depends on that branch and the school, some may be similar to Judo and some may not be similar at all. Just my personal opinion
