MOST POPULAR Closed Guard Video on YouTube REDONE

    Hey Everyone,

In 2006 when I was a blue belt I made a video of my favorite closed guard positions and attacks in response to a questions someone had on YouTube. Since then I am now a black belt and the video has received close to 470,000 views, 720 likes, and over 400 comments along with many emails and messages from people saying the video has helped them a lot and they were able to successfully use a lot of the techniques. 5 years later I decided to redo the video.

It is better quality, has more techniques that I use, no crappy music, and I also added voice over. I hope this one can continue to help and even take place of the last one. Please share if you enjoy and thank you for watching.

P.S. Here is the link to the old video as well for comparison:

P.P.S If you are interested in me doing MORE videos like this from other situations please let me know.

Wow, that was really good and informative, and yes the 2nd is way better than the 1st.
I'm gonna be re-watching that more than a few times.
    Thanks man!

    excellent video.

i notice that you leave the thumb in rather than going for a gable grip which i think is better - any opinions on that?

Oh ok...for the underhook grip and what I'm trying to accomplish I don't think it really matters much...play around with it and see what you think...I'll do the same.

it's probably small difference (if any) with your hands at that angle. but i'd think that a gable would be stronger. i'll give it a try thumb out, i haven't done that at all for years.

pretty basic stuff but always worth examining.

Thanks for posting, the gift wrap is my favourite control for all positions and I picked up a few more things watching your vid.
