Jones is a giant pile of crazy long reach, and I just don't see Lyoto's counterpunching ways having the same kind of effect that they would have on men with less chimp like proportions.

I see Jon Jones taking this via TKO. Barring that he takes it by decision. In general, I imagine Jones will stay on the outside, probably attempt fewer of his crazier strikes than we've seen in previous matches. If he catches Machida with something that drops him, Bones swarms for the GnP from hell. If not, it goes the distance. I know--utterly crazy prediction--a little less certain than "the sun will rise tomorrow." If it doesn't happen like that, though... well, that's the fight game.

Having tossed that hand grenade out there I'd like to see Jones keep the title just to put the LHW curse away for a while.

Was'nt supposed to come off that way, I was just saying that a guy with 84.5 inch reach can strike from range way beyond normal, and decided a chimp was a good metaphor for a guy with super-reach.
