That video has been around here before. Last time it was called an aikido vs judo vid though.
Regardless, the clip is the worst possible example of one style vs another, the JJJ/judo guy is completely compliant, it is a demo video and nothing more. If you want to argue aikido vs anything find one video of a professional fighter using it.
Edit: Check out the sweet throw at 40 seconds, Judo can't pull of anything like that!Last edited by jspeedy; 10/13/2011 3:21pm at . Reason: aikido miserable fail!

Obviously a demo, as many have said; furthermore, as has often been suggested, it looks like a pure aikido demo—not even a demo of “something else vs. aikido”. The one bereft of magic pants looks very much like an aikidoka to me: The ready stance for one, very side-on with a hand held open and vertical well out in front (as if to invite a wrist grab? I don’t know). Then, too, the behaviour of running heedlessly at tori is something that many aikidoka seem to rehearse a great deal… Finally, the way the uke goes so strongly and smoothly, with overcommitment into ukemi without ever a pause or stutter—yeah, aikido-on-aikido demo.
Nothing to see except a variable but invariably misleading video title. I suppose people who upload YouTube videos just assume that no hakama = no aikido.[ petterhaggholm.net | blog | essays ]
