They're pretty stiff plastic; a little give. Like Tupperware. I didn't do any "wear tests" on them but I'd wager you could slide a barrel with aggressive rifling groves over them a hundred times or more before they'd wear. There's a lot of buffer material to the caps.
Yeah, the company sells replacements/extras. Looks like they go for $3 per 4 in packs of 4 or 8.
I dunno. They fit on pretty tight. I had to work to get that one off. They might loosen up over time as the plastic expands to the fitting. Only time will tell.I know one or two would eventually get lost in my house.
If it's an issue, I suppose a drop of superglue will keep it on. Might make taking it off for replacement or .22 storage a challenge though. I'll be honest, I don't know how Powdercoat reacts with acetone.
