    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Age Of Martial Arts Instructor

This really is a question for any traditional martial arts practitioners (and VERY loosely for mma practitioners in regards to coaches). I know it doesn't mean much, I just want to hear your guys opinion on this: How old should a martial arts teacher be? Young and energetic, Old and wise, or am i just being nooby idiot posting question that dont make sense (tell me please so ill stop asking them).
But back to the question, I mean what if your instructor is like fresh out of college? I mean they wouldnt have anywhere near as much experience and knowledge as someone who is older. Idk, it seems like I'm seeing a lot of younger and younger instructors around.
Or is that a good thing? I mean, it breaks up old dogmas of have to do this or cant do that from days were people were more close minded.
Id just like to hear your thoughts on this.

They should be capable, compitent, and (verifiably)credentialed/experienced. Nothing else matters.

Several people here take some warming up to, but pretty much everyone here is worth having conversation with.

EDIT - And welcome aboard and all that jazz...

Anyway, what made you ask? Are you a young instructor or have one?

Agreed. There are some great younger instructor and some real dodgy old ones, saying that the same is true the other way too.'
