    Hell yeah! Hell no!

"Warrior" : New MMA movie that is actually good?

So how did this one sneak past me. There's a new MMA movie out and it's actually getting decent reviews. 84% on Rotten Tomatos and even Ebert gave it 3 stars. Looks like I'll be going to check this sucker out on Sunday.

Because of RoC tonight and Bellator tomorrow I won't actually have a review of this one done until Sunday. I think some of it is based on the low standards people have for the genre. The action scenes are an unqualified success, though.

I am glad Nick Nolte got a solid review. I like a good come back story.

Plus I love stories taken in my city. We are the Fecking Balls. :-)

Saw it last month at a press screening. Loved it. Great movie. Great choreography. Good story and acting.

    Here is a fight scene:

Great to hear its actually good. Someone recently told me about one about an underground mma movie in australia (takes place there or produced there) that they said was pretty decent. Don't know if any of you know the name, I couldn't find it.

Oh, I got my review up for this movie over the weekend at USCS. http://uscombatsports.com/index.php?...604&Itemid=325

Yes, it was good, but not great. The ultra short version is direction, cinematography, choreography: brilliant. Acting: Solid. Script: Utter garbage.

Pretty much what was to be expected, right? At least from looking at the trailers. Good thing it didn't disappoint in those first three criteria.

Personally I loved the movie, and was surprised there weren't a bunch of Tapfliction Toolbags running around. I went on Friday opening night at about 1800hrs. I imagine the lack of toolbaggery was due to them primping for a long night of clubbing on a Friday night.

I usually like long segments of training footage in fight movies. I think it pays homage to the hard work and sacrifice the fighters put in to fight at any level. This movie didn't really have that. They put in just enough to show that the fighters train, but not really to the extent that you would think the training took over their lives. It kind of makes me wonder, if this movie will bring forth, or expand a breed of Tapfliction toolbag who thinks he is the dark horse younger brother who can kick anyone's ass, in a few seconds, but just hasn't had his chance yet? Bouncers everywhere, prepare to be annoyed!
