No, unless you're sitting right next to him constantly and intentionally inhaling his secondhand smoke. While there is a small amount of scientific validity to the "threat" of secondhand smoke, it's vastly overblown. It's largely a political scare tactic. Statistically, you're something like 15 times more likely to get cancer from eating lettuce every day. Also, the fact that they're starting to warn people about third- and fourth-hand smoke... it's just ridiculous.

This is pretty much true. The extra cancer risk of being around one person smoking is functionally pretty close to zero. The studies showing the kind of risk worth worrying about were done on people who worked in nightclubs with two hundred people smoking at once.
P.S. Doesn't apply to kids, living with a smoker raises the risk of all sorts of non-cancer-related unpleasantness for them. Though no one really knows why. -

Either way tell them to take it the **** outside!
I smoke 20 a day and live by myself, and I still don't smoke inside. It's just gross, and there is nothing worse than the smell of stale smoke.
Unless you're living on a submarine or a spaceship there is no excuse for indoor smoking. Give them a slap upside the head.
