Firstly, as an aikidoka, I say "**** you all!" before you all get started.
That said... You could learn:
- Nothing
a variation on that drum thing from karate kid 2
a half decent katagatame whilst soaking up a couple of punches
Some closing of distance on someone striking at you.
Beyond that, (and one of those was mostly a joke) I'd say that hour would be better spent making sure you definitely know how your radio works.
EDIT: I'd spend it learning how the 'list' function works on this thingLast edited by Ignorami; 6/25/2011 1:39pm at .

I've always wanted to learn where I could gets some of those wicked akido trousers. But really, an hour of training in just about anything of value (whether or not aikido qualifies I'll leave to others) is only enough time to learn that you suck. Maybes an hours of aikido could get you started on ukemi?

I once organised a joint Aikido Judo seminar. We had two hours each.
I got told that I had 'very good Aikido' by the 6th dan running it. Apart from that I didn't really learn much.
Had fun in the Judo part though especially when Aikijokers tried to resist the Judo stuff to 'prove' it didn't work. That wen't badly for them. -

Had you made them take the hakama off for the judo bit?
Of course they faired badly. So would Sampson have if you'd made him cut his hair before the session

Nah onl6 the 6th dan had one on and he sat on a cushion in the corner of the mat and meditated, it was fucking weird.
It was just funny really.
They were just being pathetic. We were doing Okuri eri jime from seated back control and the guy was tucking his chin down and putting his hands up to defend whilst I was trying to help the others who were struggling to do it.
I just slipped it into Juji gatame and put it on a little too hard.

What can you learn in an hour of Aikido?
