Rhadi told me you're a *****.
You should probably listen to him. Thought this was appropriate with some of the whine threads I've read lately.

To be completely honest, I always hear rumors of "stress cards" at basic training, but I don't think they really exist. I've never actually met anyone that had stress cards at their basic."No. Listen to me because I know what I'm talking about here." -- Hannibal

At my unit, the psychologist refers to three types of people:
Wolves - People who leverage antisocial behavior for their benefit on a regular basis against a civilian populace. They are "bad." Examples: Drug cartel, terrorists.
Sheep - normal people.
Sheepdogs - characteristics in between wolves and sheep. Capable of violence when necessary, but also capable of fading into the flock when violence is not necessary.
It's probably at least 50% circlejerk, but I believe it has at least some validity. What he is referring to is something that bothers me, as well. It seems like so many of the people I have seen go through some period of difficulty, whether it is wrestling class, academic team, selection, or simply trying something new, find it far too easy to call it quits. Life is all about keeping your word. To yourself, and to others. Even if things get difficult or temporarily painful.
On the other hand, I think people who are not quitters will be highly prized in the future, so maybe I should stop complaining about it and just raise my kids to take advantage of the situation."No. Listen to me because I know what I'm talking about here." -- Hannibal

I think there are only sheep and wolves. Sheep-dogs are wolves that protect their pack.
