The outcome would have totally been different if there was broken glass and lava on the ground.

No fair- their casual Brazilian style dictates that they sit on the floor, but here in the good old U S of A we sit in folding chairs! And if you think these colors run you are rather misinformed!

Or the sparring session took place on a trampoline covered in thumb tacks and garnished with barbed wire with a bunch of 2x4s and steel chairs scattered on the ground surrounding...

It would be more impressive IMHO if they hadn't dressed the two "wrasslers" up in the gi. I don't think the outcome would have changed at all but it would have been a more honest display of technical superiority. I mean I had been training no-gi for years, fought a few pro-fights, competed in tons of tournaments and when I put on the Kimono for the first time I was just as lost as my first class. It's a different game, that gi.

Not that I think that it would change anything but I thought that whole thing was a touch bogus considering they wore gis and they started on the floor.

I agree with JBliss and Omega, it probably wouldn't have changed much but at the very least it should have been no-gi.

Would have been interesting to see it start standing also.

They also had no crowd support to give them the strength to muscle out of submissions.

No-gi for the 'challengers,' add strikes, start standing.

Those were some solid records from those backyard wrestlers, I'm sure they'll rebound from this loss and work up to another title shot.
