    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    I hate where I live

I say this because I live nowhere near any good martial art school, in-fact Chicago really doesn't have many good gyms (unless you are looking for kung-fu or aikido)
I mean most of the boxing gyms are just workout places and the real serious gyms are hours away.
I made this thread for 2 reasons
    1. For people with similar experiences and what they did
    2. For people who live in Chicago and know of good places that teach Thai or boxing or even mma (besides Degerberg)

Don't listen to him! He does that gay Brazilian Martial art (Capoeria)! Not sweating on dudes and being sweated on is totally gay! Move to Brisbane we have not that. And smaller signs. And uhmm...magical beasts. Oh! And MMA.
Daniel: I don't know if I know enough karate.

    Miyagi: Feeling correct.

Daniel: You sure know how to make a guy feel confident.

Miyagi: You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.

It's the 'burbs, so I'm not sure if it' near your part of Chicago, but:
http://www.extremekungfu.com/ in addition to wushu, has a pretty legit San Da/MMA program.
And what more, it's run by the guy who did Kung Lao's motion capture for Mortal Kombat II.

But old age will grant him no truce,
    Even if spears spare him.

He's a bit controversial around these parts, but it would be interesting to work with Tony C. He's in Chicago I believe.

Um, that looks like a badass Judo school. Great instructors, professional program. Do that if you can!
