    Hell yeah! Hell no!

James Demille is a little fishy

    YouTube- Bruce Lee the Unbeatable

So I feel James Demille is contradicting himself.
He states that Bruce fought only street fighters, people who didn't fight in tournaments, then he goes to claim that one of the people he fought was a professional boxer. I asked the Vide uploader and this is what he had to say

"ur getting this all wrong. Yes Bruce has fought a pro boxer in a tournament, but not the tournament that is the same as today(which means less rules) and everything was different. You can call it tournament but it was much different then the ones today and I'm pretty sure Sijo James was talking about that too in this video."
    -uploader of the video

Regardless of the tournament fighting a pro boxer means someone who is fighting professionally.

    What do you guys think
I think James Demille might be expanding the truth.

And I thought this thread was dead.
Idk and I'm sure James Demille gets all the respect in the MA world, but his argument is just stupid. If I put Anderson Silva up against him, Anderson would destroy James.

So, "we are too deadly to spar" rears its head again?

So Bruce crushed all of those guys, and Gene LeBell EASILY handled Bruce?

Joe Lewis, Chuck Norris, Bob Wall... any one of them would have handed Bruce his ass.

    Sad really.....

    3 Things:

    1) BL never fought any pro boxer in any tourney. He fought a HS kid in a intramural thing in Hong Kong.

    2) I have trained with James and he is a tough old bird.

    3) I think he is entering his anecdottage.

I doubt there were any injuries during those sparring sessions either.

Hold on: I am just as disincllined to believe ridiculous stories about BL as anyone else, but the JKD guys did spar alive, and Chuck and Wall have said themselves that they couldn't touch him in sparring. Now I have always attributed this to his being a fast, elusive Lightweight. I think Sonny Liston would have had problems landing on Willie Pep too.

Gene owning Bruce on the mat is not surprising as he was primarily a standup fighterrrr, and Lebell was his primary teacher.

At the end of the day BL was less than his worshipers make him out to be, but probably more than his critics depend. What ever he was, Benny Urquidez would have kicked his ass.

OK, lets put this fire out once and for all. Chuck and Bob are class acts, always were and always will be. They are not going to rag on a dead guy, either does Gene who you might notice does NOT tell the story of the fight the way it really happened.

However, in private conversations with the people in the know a different picture is painted. Remember Gene was not Bruce's teacher until AFTER Gene kicked his ass. Joe, Chuck and Bob actually fought people, people with skills, Bruce never really did.

Bob Wall in an interview years ago spoke to the issue that Bruce never fought because his ego could not handle losing.

I was under the impression that Chuck Norris only fought TKD/Point-sparring karate rules. Could Chuck actually fight?
