    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    theotherserge has theotherseminar

We will be having our second Sambo Seminar at Combat Fitness in Concord, CA on January 30.

For those who aren't familiar with the sport it is very complimentary to Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, and Muay Thai. It incorporates principles from different martial arts. I like to think that Sambo fills the holes of some of the other arts. We generally work lots of different throws. At the last seminar we worked the "Russian Hook" which Fedor has made famous for laying fools out with.

    Where:
    Combat Fitness
    981 Bancroft Rd.
    Concord, CA
    94518

    When:
    Saturday
    January 30
    11 am

    Instructor: Serge Gerlach

Serge Gerlach has a long history in martial arts with training in san shou, submission wrestling, BJJ, and Combat Sambo under Alexander Barakov. Most recently Serge has trained in Moscow with Igor Kurinnoy. He won the heavyweight bronze medal at the 1997 Gene LeBell World Grappler's Challenge in Toronto, Canada; a gold medal (2004) and silver medal (2006) at the United Gracie Tournament in San Francisco; a bronze medal at the 2005 Unity Classic Sambo Tournament; and a silver medal at the 2005 and 2007 North American Freestyle Sambo Championships. To contact Serge please e-mail: sergegerlach@yahoo.com

Is this your usual gym? I'm moving up to Fremont next week, so I'll definitely try and make it out to Concord on the 30th. How close is it to a BART station?

My usual gym is Cheetah's Muay Thai. Cheetahmuaythai.com

if you can make the seminar, let me know, I'll give you a lift from the nearest BART in Concord. I don't actually know if it's close by or no.

When Serge Gerlach trains in Sambo, all the people there wonder "How do Serge Gerlach do what he do best-est?"

Conde Koma, Serge Gerlach say bring whatever equipment you want Serge Gerlach to show you how to do with!**

    i.e. jacket/gi and gloves

By all means, continue. I plan on guilt tripping you into a bunch of free training based on these threads when I come visit.
