It's in Collingwood, just near Smith St, so we're very central, and of course close to decent places to eat and have a few beers at afterwards. If I do get Pete involved, it'll probably happen on a Friday night, although we could probably stretch it to a Friday/Saturday event.

I called St Kilda PCYC last week just for future refernce. They seemed cool with the hiring of the Boxing gym for events.

Problem is they don't have mats, it does have a full size ring though.

Well guys, looks like Pete is a no go for the rest of the year. I should be able to have him over around late January/early February 2010, to which of course I extend an open invite to you all, with further info to come as time draws near.

Whilst sad, the cloud does have somewhat of a silver lining, as it does give us somewhat more flexibility in terms of dates to host the throwdown late this year. To which end, I'd be more than happy to be a poor Pete substitute in giving a mini-seminar on some obscure areas of BJJ (such as the joys of guillotines, arm triangles and half guard) that I happen to specialise in if the interest is there. Additionally, we'd have my business partner along for the ride - a somewhat eclectically trained 4th Dan in Iwama Aikido who was an uchi-deshi at various stages in his training life of the late Saito Sensei (also a BJJ purple).

If anyone has any particular date suggestions, please feel free to post, and hopefully we can come to some level of consensus
