Ready For Trench Warfare: The Official Mosin Thread
I just bought a cleaned up and ready to shoot Mosin Nagant w/bayonet and toolkit and a box of ammo - $130
I am now choosing a small, european country to dominate. I think I may begin with Luxembourg.
it's a 91/30 with a hex receiver from the tula arsenal circa 1927
did I get hosed by the mean man at the gun store or did I do OK?
You did just fine. They're great rifles, lots of fun to shoot.
I figure for the price, if it moves a bullet downrange whatsoever I can treat it like a great big .22 - a sort of Russian Super Plinker if you will.
Yep. Good stuff.
Anything that can shoot 3MOA or less with a 110gr bullet or heavier for under $200 is a good deal.

I don't know about 3MOA for me, but I'm sure the rifle could. I can hit a milk jug at 100 yards, and chunks of ice about half that size.

Ditto on the hi5. Yours has the hex receiver, though. Built with higher standards than mine. Nice find.
Nice clean socks. Kudos.

this is one of the places i'm looking at. as you can see, they cost upwards of $360 oz dollars:
